Siem Reap,
Cambodia

Yes! There’s a beautiful Angkor Resort Golf course in Siem Reap. It is repeatedly rated the best golf course in Cambodia. You will get to pair your trip with another round at top-rated Phokeethra Country Club, managed by Sofitel Angkor.  Both courses nestled in the countryside, are within a 20 minutes driving distance from the city centre.

So if you like your golf, and is at the same time a culture and history buff - there is no question that Siem Reap will be a fantastic destination to spend a few days.

The magnificent 1,000 years old Angkor Wat and other temples in the vicinity - Ta Phrom, Bayou Temple etc - will leave you awe-inspired.  Better still, as few travellers visit Siem Reap for golf, unlike many neighbouring cities, you will often get to enjoy a relaxed and leisurely time on the course to bring the best out of your swings.

Angkor Golf Resort

Angkor Golf Resort is designed by Sir Nick Faldo and is considered one of the best golf courses in Asia, and rated as the top Cambodian golf course by Golf Digest and Asian Golf Awards in 2022.

The par 72, 7279 yard championship course has seashore paspallum grass throughout the course allowing for an exceptional playing surface and enjoyable round. The course offers a challenging yet enjoyable round of golf and is known for its excellent conditions, including manicured fairways, greens, and bunkers.

What’s there not to like?

Phookethra Country Club

The Phokeethra Country Club lets you kick start your round next to the remains of the Prasat Phimai ruins, originally built in the 11th century.  It was the site of rest houses and hospitals spanning the route to Angkor Wat.

The world-class facility has been host to a number of international tournaments, including the Johnnie Walker Classic in 2009 and the Cambodian Open in 2010. As a championship golf course, the layout features an array of natural lagoons and sand traps to challenge golfers of all abilities. Yes, there are water bodies on all but one hole, and the 18th hole features a signature double water carry — a daunting final shot onto an island green.
